EDC - the Dutch company behind, among others, EasyToys - has developed a new in-house line of 'drugstore products' under the name Intome.  I was immediately curious about some of the products in this range. The Clitoral Arousal Gel particularly appealed to me (man) and my partner (woman). We use all kinds of stimulating agents fairly regularly, if only because it brings that something extra to intimacy.

What is Intome Clitoral Arousal Gel?

The name says it all, really. This is a nourishing gel that also functions as a lubricant. It also makes the clitoris more sensitive, which makes sex a more intense experience.

You can apply the gel to the vulva (clitoris, labia, around the vaginal opening) and the  anus if you like. And you can apply as much and as often as you want. This kind of gel can help close the orgasm gap. A lot of women need extra clitoral stimulation to have an orgasm, and this kind of gel makes your intimate areas more sensitive. But even if you have no trouble at all cumming, this kind of stimulating gel can provide extra sensation and be a real turn on for you.

      Unboxing

All Intome products come in a box that wouldn't be out of place in a random drug store. The small box has instructions in Spanish, Italian, English, German and Dutch. That's quite a lot of text for such a small box, so you have to have very good eyesight to be able to read it!

The Intome Clitoral Arousal gel contains a small tube of 30 ml (40 grams). When you take off the lid, you have to remove a little piece of foil first, just like with a tube of toothpaste. That's pretty easy to do.

Personally I always think it's important to know what's in a gel like this. After all, you're going to be rubbing it into your most intimate areas. Fortunately, the ingredients are listed right on the package.

This gel is water based. In order to give that water a consistent structure, a number of different components have been added (Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat, Carbomer, Polysorbate 20, PEG-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil). That makes the water feel thicker, helps all of the ingredients mix together properly and bond well with each other.

There are also a number of preservatives in the gel, which you often see in cosmetics and food products (Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Disodium EDTA). They prevent spoilage and mold growth. Aminomethyl Propanol also ensures that the gel has the correct pH balance.

To my surprise, I also saw that there are two dyes (CI 19140 and CI 17200); yellow and red respectively. It gives the gel a light orange color.

But the most important ingredients are Methyl PCA and Menthol. These are the substances that give the gel a slight tingling effect and nourish the skin.

I do think it's important to mention that all the ingredients contained in this product are classified as safe for cosmetics and food products by any number of organizations, including the FDA, if in small doses.

But you are going to put this on your punani and that is perhaps the most sensitive part of your body. So it's fair to say that this isn't a hypoallergenic product. If you are very susceptible to infections, or easily irritated, or if you are just very critical, there are a few ingredients in there that you might prefer to avoid (such as alcohol - can dehydrate the skin - and glycerin - is sometimes associated with yeast infections, although there's no solid evidence of that).

      The test drive

The Intome Clitoris Gel is very thin and almost flows right out of the tube. So I recommend applying it directly to the intended area straight from the tube. Then you can easily spread it around with your fingers. The gel is also completely unscented, but has a slightly bitter taste (not unpleasant, but I don't love it).

My partner indicated that it immediately gave her a fresh and slightly tingling effect. The sensation isn't that strong and you don't 'feel' it that much, but it's there. After I applied it, the effect lasted for a few minutes. After that it sort of seemed to have absorbed and the tingling wasn't really noticeable anymore.

It may be called 'Clitoral Arousal Gel' but of course it was inevitable that some of it would get on my penis. I could also feel the slightly refreshing effect. Not as strong as with other stimulating agents, but it is pleasant and noticeable.

      Conclusion

The Intome Clitoral Arousal Gel is a good gel that provides a slight tingling sensation. It can help you get a little more turned on and also reduces friction.

If you like a more 'noticeable' tingling, then this isn't the gel you're looking for.

The pros of Intome Clitoral Arousal Gel:

      Easy to apply
      Provides a nice, light sensation
      Reduces friction, and therefore irritation

      The cons:

The gel isn't hypoallergenic and contains a few ingredients that could be irritating. So test this product on another patch of skin first (your forearm, for example).

EasyToys has only just recently started selling Intome's products. The products consist of a range of creams and gels which can be used for a variety of purposes. We were asked to test the clitoral arousal gel.
      clitoral gel

What does the packaging look like

This looks like you could pick it up from your local drugstore. It's a clean box which contains a tube of gel. The print is nice and it's just a little smaller than a tube of toothpaste. You could just add this to your shopping cart and no-one would be any the wiser.

      Technical specifications

According to the packaging, this gel contains all kinds of materials which are supposed to stimulate the clitoris and leave you feeling extra aroused. Rub as much as you like on and around the clitoris and wait for the effects to take hold.

      Use

Applying the gel is easy. It looks like a clear hair gel coming out of the tube and it isn't messy to use. Apply the product and all you need to do is wait. It starts off by heating up. The whole area I applied the gel feels warm and pleasant. The effects starts to wear off after about ten minutes.

Now it's time for my criticism. How are you supposed to know whether or not it aroused you? I don't think there are many women out there who are going to use this product before they're aroused. I don't think the effect is down to the gel. I don't think you are going to reach for this product unless you're already aroused.

      It didn't rock our world.

      Conclusion

I don't know. It feels nice because the gel has a warming effect. Did it leave anyone feeling extra aroused? No idea. It was fun to try and the price was OK.

If you've read my other reviews, you'll notice a recurring theme: my search for new experiences. I love it when things are unusual, new, different or odd, as long as it can lead to a new, sexy experience, The Clitoral Arousal Gel from Intome fits that description perfectly.
      clitoris gel

The packaging says that it "increases intensity during intimate moments". That sounded pretty vague. I mean, I've put other substances like tiger balm on my intimate areas before, but I've never had the courage to pick up one of these tubes in the sex shop. I've seen them in there, but to be honest with you, I always thought it was fake, or that the effect was negligible. But as a faithful reviewer, I subjected this Clitoral Arousal Gel to thorough testing.

The product comes in a small cardboard box that just contains the tube. The design of the box is simple and modern, with just a few purple and pink patches as decoration. I think it's a nice design that doesn't scream sex product, which means it won't stand out to casual visitors. It doesn't come with any instructions, just the text on the packaging. The text says the gel can be used as a stimulant on your external genitals, so the clitoris for the woman, and it will make your skin more sensitive. They do warn you to test a small amount on the inside of your forearm first to see whether you have an allergic reaction. The gel itself is transparent and unscented, except for a slightly chemical smell that these kinds of gels always have. It doesn't contain any fragrances, which is good news for sensitive people like me.

Well, I did the underarm test, didn't have any strange reactions, so I headed to the bedroom to test the gel on my external genitals, like it says on the packaging. I cheated a little bit by reading a sexy story to get myself in the mood, and I got a few vibrators ready, just in case. I applied a decent amount of gel to my clitoris and the skin around it. I rubbed it in well and waited. I assumed it would take a while before the gel started to do its job. After a minute or two, I touched myself again, just to see if anything had changed. That felt so surprisingly good, I kept on rubbing. And kept on. And on. And before I knew it, I'd made myself cum just by fingering myself. It felt so special, so different and nice that I couldn't help myself. Even though I normally never just finger myself. I mean, I have a massive sex toy collection, so why would I? But the effect of the gel made me feel like I had no choice.

I do want to add a small note. I only tested this product once, because the main ingredient is glycerin and I've had a few bad reactions to glycerin in the past. It doesn't happen every time, but because it could happen, I didn't want to take a bigger risk than was strictly necessary. Nothing bad happened this time, and I"m really happy that I had this experience.

So let me be clear, the Clitoral Arousal Gel from Intome exceeded all my expectations. I'd actually only expected a little bit of extra sensitivity, but instead the effect was so spectacular that I couldn't keep my hands off myself. This product works, there's no doubt about that. I definitely think it could help someone who has trouble getting turned on. I tested it out on my own, but with a partner, of course it would be just as spectacular. So you see, sometimes it pays to be interested in strange new products.

It's a nice smooth gel, but I didn't notice a huge difference. Of course, that could be just me. It feels a little cold.

Nice and convenient to use. Have several types now and this one does have the least intense effect. Everything is just a little more sensitive but it doesn't work very well when warming.

It's nice stuff with the Satisfyer. I like to use some lubricant-like stuff anyway which makes the vibrations come through just a little better. It speeds up my orgasm. It doesn't get really hot.

With me, the stimulation is very little. And wears off very quickly in my opinion. Has no added value for me, unfortunately.
