A spreader bar is one of those toys that you keep putting off buying. We'd wanted one for a long time, but we always thought it was just too expensive to buy. We have tried to make one of our own from a piece of curtain rod, but it didn't really work. So we were really pleased when we got the opportunity to test this toy.

The spreader bar from Easy Toys comes in really high-end packaging. It's a hard cardboard box and the Expander Spreader is divided up into different parts, packed in foam. The box is clearly intended for storing the bar. It fits under the bed perfectly. There are three separate bars and two cuffs in the box. The bars are made of stainless steel and feel heavy and solid. They're easy to put together, even for someone with minimal technical skills. The cuffs are made of supple PU leather and the detailing is good. The seams are well sewn and there's plenty of padding on the inside, so they aren't uncomfortable. They're easy to attach to the bar with clips. The bar also has an extra eye that seems to mean you can also use it for suspension, so hanging your sub from it. I'm not sure if this bar is strong enough to support an adult's full weight, but you could for example hang the bar from it while the sub is standing up, so they have to hold up their arms.
Use
We used the Expander Spreader both standing and lying down, between the legs both times. The cuffs fit great. The sensation of not being able to close my legs was a real turn on for me. But it's a shame that when you are lying down you can still turn your thighs in such a way that you can cover your most sensitive parts. That wasn't possible standing up. It's really sturdy and doesn't give an inch.

Are there any downsides to this toy? No, actually, there aren't. It's expensive, but it's definitely worth the investment. It is an item that any BDSM couple should have in their house, if only because of the world of possibilities it opens up and the extra dimension it adds to sex play. It's not a must if you are just getting started with BDSM, but I can definitely recommend it for the more experienced user. And yes, this is definitely a better solution than the homemade version made with stuff from the DIY store. My advice is don't hesitate.
