      What different condoms are there?

      How do you use a condom?

      2. Have a stock. A condom sometimes breaks. If you only have one with you and it goes wrong, that can be quite a downer. Make sure you stock up on enough.
      3. Remove it from the packaging. Keep in mind that you carefully tear the packaging loose. The edges of the bag can be sharp. Tear the packaging slightly in the middle and pull the two parts apart. This way the contraceptive does not come into contact with the foil. Also watch out with long and sharp nails. Catch the condom with your hands or let it land in your lap. A condom that has fallen on the floor is not hygienic and therefore unusable.
      4. Determine the correct position. When you unroll it in the dark, it is wise to keep a small light there. This way you can be sure that you are doing it right. Feel with your fingers which side is the right one. There is a mnemonic to discover the good side of the condom. Feel and see whether the rolled-up latex is a hat or a cap. If you put it on your glans with the rolled side inwards, it is a hat. That is wrong. Unrolling will be difficult or not. With the roll side out you have a hat and that is the right side.
      5. Unroll it. Now that you have put the chop on your glans correctly, you can unroll it. With your thumb and forefinger, squeeze the nozzle at the top. You can unroll the latex with your other thumb and index finger. Make sure you bend your fingers slightly so that your nails are facing out. Unroll it all the way to the beginning of your penis.
      6. Is not there anymore. Once the condom is in place, it is not wise to pull it on or to 'move' the latex. The friction can cause damage and even cracks. If the condom is really bad, it is better to take off the old condom and get a new one. If everything goes well, you can start your lovemaking.

      What size condom should I have?

      You can determine which size condom you need on the basis of the diagram below. You need a piece of string and a ruler to measure.

      • Wrap the string around your erect penis. Cut it where the string is all the way round or hold it at that point. Then measure the length of the string. That is the width of your penis.
      • To measure the length of your penis, hold the ruler against your erect penis. Measure at the top of the shaft. That means from your stomach, not from your scrotum.
